(October 18, 2020)
The 40th edition of the famed 'Dirt Track World Championship' took center stage in the Dirt Late Model world on October 16-17, as a whopping $100,000 top prize was on the line at Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio. A total of 63 competitors showed up at PRP over the weekend to compete in the lucrative Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series finale. On Friday night during preliminary action, Kody Evans timed in twenty-fifth fastest in Group A during qualifying prior to running seventh in his loaded heat race. Kody then climbed up to fourth in Saturday's B-Main, but that was unfortunately two spots out of a coveted transfer position into the 100-lap DTWC. The Camden, Ohio native did compete in the $3,000 to win 'Jim Dunn Memorial' for non-qualifiers, but a skirmish during the race left him with a disappointing eighteenth place showing. Evans Sees Action at Eldora and Atomic Over Busy Weekend
(September 13, 2020)
Kody Evans started his September 10-12 weekend at the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio during the 'Intercontinental Classic,' which was a special fan-less, invitation-only race that carried a whopping $50,000 top prize. The action at the "Big E" kicked off with a pair of $10,000 to win preliminary programs. On Thursday night, Kody finished seventh in his heat race and twelfth in his B-Main, which unfortunately kept him out of the 30-lap feature. A similar show was held on Friday evening, but Kody once again missed out on the 30-lapper after running eleventh in his heat race and thirteenth in his B-Main.

Instead of sticking around at Eldora and starting deep in his heat race, Kody and his #4G team ventured to Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio on Saturday for the $10,000 to win 'Fireball 50.' The Camden, Ohio ace earned the fifth transfer spot through his stacked heat race and later rolled off from the inside of the eighth row in the 50-lap headliner. Unfortunately, a flat tire doomed Kody early in the contest and he was not able to return to the track in time before the restart, which dropped him to twentieth in the final finishing order.
