Evans Sees Action at Eldora and Atomic Over Busy Weekend
(September 13, 2020)
Kody Evans started his September 10-12 weekend at the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio during the 'Intercontinental Classic,' which was a special fan-less, invitation-only race that carried a whopping $50,000 top prize. The action at the "Big E" kicked off with a pair of $10,000 to win preliminary programs. On Thursday night, Kody finished seventh in his heat race and twelfth in his B-Main, which unfortunately kept him out of the 30-lap feature. A similar show was held on Friday evening, but Kody once again missed out on the 30-lapper after running eleventh in his heat race and thirteenth in his B-Main.

Instead of sticking around at Eldora and starting deep in his heat race, Kody and his #4G team ventured to Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio on Saturday for the $10,000 to win 'Fireball 50.' The Camden, Ohio ace earned the fifth transfer spot through his stacked heat race and later rolled off from the inside of the eighth row in the 50-lap headliner. Unfortunately, a flat tire doomed Kody early in the contest and he was not able to return to the track in time before the restart, which dropped him to twentieth in the final finishing order. The tripleheader weekend for the #4G team then wrapped up on Sunday at Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio. An unsanctioned showdown at the former K-C Raceway took place last night and a $6,700 winner's check was on the line.
