Motor
Woes Knock Kody Evans Out of Contention at Eldora...
(September
8, 2022) After a long layoff, Kody Evans debuted a brand-new
XR1 Rocket Chassis on Wednesday evening, September 7 at the famed
Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio. Competing in the second 'Chasing
the Dream' race, Kody stopped the clock second fastest in his group
during the qualifying session and later started the 20-lap feature
from the outside of the front row. With a $5,000 paycheck on the
line, Kody was in the second spot - behind Mike Marlar - late in
the distance when his new #4G machine showed signs of serious smoke.
The Camden, Ohio ace was unfortunately forced to pull
pitside on lap 18 due to the motor woes and was officially placed
thirteenth in the final finishing order. Due to the trouble underneath
the hood, Kody was also forced to scrap his plans to enter the 52nd
Annual 'World 100' at Eldora Speedway from September 8-10. Complete
